Orzo with Bacon & Asparagus

Yield: 4 servings (½ cup portions) | Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 oz. bacon, chopped
  • 4 oz. white onion, diced
  • 1 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 8 oz. asparagus tips
  • 8 oz. cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 oz. Holland House® White Cooking Wine
  • 2 oz. chicken stock
  • 24 oz. orzo
  • 4 oz. Asiago cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large sauce pan render bacon and cook until crisp.
  2. Add onions and garlic and sauté for approximately 1½ minutes.
  3. Add asparagus and cherry tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. De-glaze with Holland House® White Cooking Wine and chicken stock.
  5. Stir in orzo and Asiago cheese and season with salt and pepper.
