Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1-1/2 cups Holland House® Red Cooking Wine, divided
  • 1/2 lb uncooked spaghetti
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup loosely packed chopped soft herbs (Italian parsley, basil or chives)

Directions

  1. Bring water and 1 cup Holland House® Red Cooking Wine to rolling boil in 12-inch skillet on medium-high heat
  2. Add pasta; cook 2 minutes less than directed on package, stirring frequently until liquid is mostly absorbed
  3. Push pasta to the side of the pan; add oil, butter and garlic
  4. Cook on medium heat 2-3 minutes or until garlic is softened
  5. Add remaining 1/2 cup Holland House® Red Cooking Wine and cheese
  6. Toss gently until sauce forms and evenly coats pasta
  7. Remove pan from heat
  8. Sprinkle with herbs before serving

Tips

  1. Holland House® Red Cooking Wine adds a slightly pink tint to the pasta as it cooks.
  2. For a spicy kick, add ½ teaspoon red chili flakes with the garlic
