  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in large cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat until shimmering
  2. Place cabbage in pan, cut-side down. Cook 2-4 minutes or until deeply browned on one side
  3. Turn cabbage to second cut side, add remaining 1 tablespoon oil, and continue cooking 2-4 minutes or until browned
  4. Meanwhile, whisk Holland House® White Cooking Wine, miso, vinegar, honey and garlic powder in small bowl
  5. Turn cabbage cut-sides up; pour cooking wine mixture over cabbage
  6. Cook on medium-low heat 8-10 minutes or until cabbage is tender and liquid is reduced to just a few tablespoons, turning occasionally
  7. Sprinkle with ground black pepper and chives before serving

Tips

  1. Substitute chopped Italian parsley for the chives.
  2. White miso paste (shiro miso) adds the right amount of seasoning and savory umami flavor.
