Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 medium broccoli crowns, cut into bite-sized pieces (about 6 cups)
  • 1/4 cup Holland House® Sherry Cooking Wine
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely grated
  • 1 small pepper, Fresno, jalapeno, or serrano, thinly sliced (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat oil in large 12-inch skillet on medium-high heat until shimmering
  2. Add broccoli in single layer. Cook 2-3 minutes, undisturbed, until bottoms begin to brown
  3. Combine Holland House® Sherry Cooking Wine, soy sauce, garlic and chile in small bowl
  4. Add cooking wine mixture to skillet, cover immediately, and cook 1-2 minutes while gently shaking pan
  5. Remove pan from heat when liquid is mostly absorbed, and broccoli is crisp-tender

Tips

  1. Substitute 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger for the garlic.
  2. Enjoy the center broccoli stem by trimming the tough outer skin with a vegetable peeler. Cut into ½-inch-thick slices and cook with the florets as directed.
  3. Alternative Cooking Wine options: Holland House® White Cooking Wine or Holland House® White with Lemon Cooking Wine.
